Mothers Day 2015
May is almost over and I totally forgot to post about Mothers Day! There was a lot going on that weekend as we also attended my cousins surprise 30th birthday party and my little sisters birthday fell on Mothers Day this year. We went south for a total of 6 hours and then had tons of family in town to keep the celebration going. On Mothers Day itself we started off with brunch at Carmel Kitchen which is one of my favorite spots to eat and have mimosa's in the Orlando area.
Mothers Day is such a special day to me. To know me is to know that I have an incredible bond with my mother and now that I am now a mom myself, it's nice to have a day to feel extra special. It's no secret around here that my journey to motherhood was a rough one - getting excited only to realize it was a false start and even my challenge in getting my little guy here. I don't take this position lightly and strive to be the best mom I can be, even though there are moments where I think to myself, "I'm such a bad mom" - but I think every mom has a day like that lol. I've come to realize that I do put a lot of pressure on myself but I think that's natural for most parents - you want to be the best and raise an amazing human being. Whenever I have those moments of doubts however, I'm reminded that I am in fact a good mommy. There's nothing like Grey giving me tons of hugs and kisses, telling me he loves me and repeating all the things I've been teaching him like his ABC's and his numbers. I can't get over how smart he is! I love him so much. Before I type five paragraphs about how amazing my son is, here are just a few photos from the day.
We had such a good meal with such great service that we decided to make reservations for the whole gang of us to return later that evening to celebrate Jae's birthday.
It was amazing having family here from Jamaica, Trinidad and South Florida. We don't have visitors often so my heart was full to have my loved ones here. Plus, I didn't have a cook a single thing that day - #Winning !!!
