Grey's 2nd ( Circus Themed ) Birthday Party
I've mentioned this before, but I wasn't happy about Grey's 1st Birthday Party. Of course I was happy about my baby's actual milestone, but the party itself just didn't go the way I wanted it to. I switched the venue last minute because we thought the weather was going to be terrible, we ended up being late trying to get everything together, there turned out to be no stove so we starved for quite a while - the whole thing went left. This year I essentially had the party that I envisioned last year.I hosted it at the park I originally booked last year, the weather was beautiful, we had tons of food, I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
After kicking off birthday week with a trip to the zoo, we headed down to Fort Lauderdale for the party festivities with family and friends. Due to Grey's love of elephants, cookies and trucks, I thought the best theme to do was a circus. My vision for the day was just a relaxed afternoon of hanging out, eating and playing.
My favorite part of the decor were blankets that I laid out on the grass for those who wanted to relax closer to the lake. I thought it would be a cool idea to include some snacks in the baskets in case guests got munchies while waiting for the food on the grill. Cute idea, right?
By the way, Grey got his first haircut on the morning of the party which is a whole other post in itself. He looks like such a big boy now!
We also got a cotton candy machine which was a big hit! A lot of the older kids I invited weren't able to make it, so the adults took advantage of the bounce house. We had a really good time being silly and acting like we didn't have a care in the world. Honestly, Grey had A LOT of fun, but I think the adults had an even better time, lol.
"No cake on mommy's face!"
I couldn't have asked for a better birthday party for Grey! He ran his little heart out, his girlfriend came, he got to play with a dog, he played frisbee with some grown ups, he jumped around in the bounce house and ate snacks that I typically don't allow him to indulge in, lol - he had a GREAT day! Thank you so much to everyone who came out and made my boy's day a special one. Also, a big THANK YOU to my friend Sonia who came early to help us set up while I was so confused about everything lol.
