Relaxed Family Style At Lake Eola
Every once in a while you have one of those days when you sit back for a moment and think to yourself, "This is a good one". I'm slowly venturing out in Central Florida and made it to Lake Eola Park over the weekend. I drove by a little while back with Wannie (my unofficial tour guide) and knew that I had to make a day out of it with my family. The weather this past Sunday was glorious - 70's with a light breeze - a perfect day to spend outdoors. As a former New Yorker, I definitely appreciate the higher temperatures, however they don't lend to good outdoor family activity days. There's free yoga on Sundays as well as the Farmers Market - both of which I plan to check out next time. But yesterday, it was so good!
My main goal with this visit was to do the Swan Boat ride. I prayed it wasn't too expensive - it actually turned out to be extremely affordable at $15 for 30 minutes. We had such a fun and relaxing time on the water, I'd love to do this at sunset with just the hubby and I for date night. How romantic would that be?
We worked up quite the appetite between walking and the paddle boat. We opted for lunch at Relax Grill which is located right across from the boat rentals. I enjoyed the chicken bacon ranch wrap, fish & chips for the hubby, Philly Cheese for Lil Sis and Grey ate everyone's fries. He also demanded to sit in his own chair - no stroller or high chair, lol.
I'm really excited about the Fall season and seeing more of what Central Florida has to offer. It's certainly a family friendly area which is exciting for us as parents. I'm always on the hunt for fun and cheap! Let's see what else I can find :)
