Fathers Day 2014
My husband has never been big on celebrations. Birthdays are just regular days and Holidays are just days off from work (sometimes) that he can sleep. Having been together for almost a decade now, he's gotten used to me forcing him to celebrate things like his birthday with dinner plans, trips or now a family activity - he always thanks me for it later. For Fathers Day, I told him that I had absolutely NOTHING planned and I wasn't joking. Between work, blogging, my start up, mommyhood, being his wife, and somehow trying to squeeze time for me in there - no plans were made. Luckily our friends asked us last minute to hang out for brunch and the day couldn't have been more perfect. We ended up at Shooters on the inter-coastal where we sat on the riverfront catching up and eating.
With the beach on the way home, we ended up stopping there for about an hour while G ran his little heart out on the beach. He went to bed at 6:30pm. Sometimes a simple day with really cool people is all you need. It was good and one of the first days in a long time where I wished that I could bottle up the good vibes that I had that day and carry them with me everywhere.
