LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD, BE FABULOUS: Health, Wellness & Beauty Seminar

Saturday was such a hectic day leading up to this event! Of course I forgot to twist my hair the night before, and it didn't help that my session with my personal trainer ended only two hours before the event start time. My hair was completely wet from sweating and a total mess, which resulted in me having to make a last minute beauty supply run to quickly pick up some marley hair. In the midst of disgustingly hot weather, a couple more errands, having to get both myself and the baby ready which left me only about 5 minutes to create this updo - I was a mess, but I made it!

The "Look Good, Feel Good, Be Fabulous": Health, Wellness and Beauty Seminar was hosted by Hey Girlfriend and the Beautiful Brown Girls Brunch Club. This educational and fun event provided an enjoyable environment to network, shop from vendors and listen to empowering speeches from local female entrepreneurs. I got a chance to meet and chat with so many inspiring ladies, including two of my favorite South Florida bloggers who I got to meet for the first time - Ashley of A Sassy Woman and Jillian of NuSophisticate (who were both lovely might I add). I also got a chance to meet Ashley of Glitz'N'Glam Cosmetics who I have been Facebook friends with for years, who shared an amazing story of perseverance. I was so busy chatting away with everyone (and running back and forth to check on my baby) that I didn't get all the photos I planned on getting nor did I remember to get my free massage, tragic. In any event, here are a few that I got to snap of the fabulous attendees, vendors and speakers:

Dr. Vanessa Walker & Betsy Germain Evans

I just loved her ensemble! The pants were everything!

Rushell Belle is the owner and personal shopper of "My Glam Sqaud"! I absolutely loved her romper and she was a pleasure to talk to. Be sure to follow this gorgeous gal on instagram @myglamsquadinc.

This pretty girls jacket was a thrift store find that I was practically drooling over!

I got a chance to chat with Barbara Jacques of Jacq's Organics who has the coolest haircut and cutest little girl. Barbara created the all natural skincare line while  expecting her daughter, in order to have products safe from cancerous and harmful ingredients to use on her family. As a new mom who only uses organic products on her baby, I loved her story as well as the knowledge she shared with us about how to create a skincare regimen. Barbara has been featured everywhere from the Local 10 News to being named on of South Florida's Top 40 under 40 Black Leaders of Today and Tomorrow by The Miami Herald.

I'm sure you're sick of me raving about that Lavender & Lemongrass Oil that I used to get my edges back and help my hair grow, but I can't stop talking about. Stopping by Shara's booth was a must for me because I never want to run out of the stuff! I purchased some extra bottles including one for my mom - I'll be sure to share her progress with you.

DSC_0719DSC_0712...so I may or may not have attempted to drink several of these before realizing that they're actually candles. The Montaque Candle Company makes creates soy candles that smell and look good enough to eat! I definitely need to place an order to get some for my desk...but I'm scared I might try to eat one again.

I really enjoyed this seminar and loved the overall message of how important it is to take care of ourselves from the inside out. I was also truly inspired by a few of the women who were inspired to start businesses once they entered motherhood. Oftentimes, society makes it seem as though women become hindered professionally once they choose to be mothers, while these women proved quite the opposite.
